Position Title: Executive Director

Scope of Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will continue to build an organization that engages the Christian community to share the love of Christ with Chinese students, scholars, and their families in the Twin Cities area. He or she will be responsible for all activities related to implementing the mission and vision of the organization. The primary purpose of this position is leadership and fundraising. Other important responsibilities are representing the organization to churches, donors, academic institutions, the Chinese community, and other constituents; engaging Christians in Chinese outreach ministry; and leading the promotion and marketing efforts for the organization. This person will also have general responsibility for budgeting and financial management, program development and implementation, staff development, volunteer recruitment, and strategic planning.
The ideal candidate will be a mature Christian who is called to this ministry, is dedicated to the
proclamation of the Gospel to the Chinese, is a proven leader and fundraiser, is a gifted communicator, has strong organizational skills, has three years of administrative and supervisory experience including work in a Christian ministry, and has an advanced degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus. He or she must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
The Hospitality Center for Chinese (HCC) is a 501c3 charitable organization and is supported by the generosity of individuals, companies, and churches. HCC was founded in 1992 by retired Lutheran missionaries from China. The ministry is designed to meet practical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the local Chinese community, with the goal of “sharing Christ’s love through hospitality.” HCC’s main programs include: Host families, New student services, Friendship/

Direct Reports & Peer Relationships:
• Supervises three program managers, 1 part time office assistant, an intern, and two building hosts directly, and the volunteer staff indirectly.
• Peer to another ministry in “China Place,” China Service Ventures.
• Collaborates with other ministries located on the University of Minnesota campus.
