November: Rob Stadler presenting

High and low-confidence science of evolution

It's the year of guest speakers!

The goal of our free monthly meals are for Chinese and Americans to get to know each other over a meal served by two churches who sponsor the food and build a community throughout the year. Every meal has a theme, activity, children's program, prize giveaways, announcements, and discussion time. Come join us as we explore Chinese, American, and Christian culture together.

November's guest speaker, Rob Stadler received a B.S. in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Medical Engineering from the Harvard/MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. With 19 years of experience as a scientist in the medical device industry, he has authored 17 peer-reviewed manuscripts, has obtained more than 100 US patents, and his research and innovation have contributed to medical devices that are implanted in over 1 million patients worldwide.

He is author of The Scientific Approach to Evolution which provides a rational new perspective on the evolution debate. Scientific evidence is not all created equally. Some forms of evidence only provide low confidence, while other forms of evidence provide high confidence. Rob Stadler describes a compelling approach to determine the level of confidence and applies it to the commonly cited evidence for evolution. When high-confidence evidence is appropriately prioritized over low-confidence evidence, the result is a new view of evolution - one that they did not teach you in biology.

It's also THANKSGIVING month! We'll have wonderful tranditional food like turkey and mashed potatoes at the dinner. Join us for a feast.
