Meet Our Staff
Tim Grunditz Executive Director
Tim Grunditz has had an interesting journey on his way to HCC. He grew up a pastor's son but wandered from the Lord after tragedy struck his life. When he returned, it was like the prodigal son’s homecoming. Deep in Tim's heart, God began to stir a passion for bringing the gospel to all nations. Meanwhile vocationally he started his independent contracting company. After 16 years of running his company, the Lord converged Tim’s passion for the gospel with his experience in business and birthed his role as the executive director of HCC in May, 2014. He is joined in serving the Lord by his wife Kathy and young daughters Lucy, Jill, and Ruby. Contact Tim at email@example.com.
Josh Driver Program Coordinator
Josh Driver's first contact with China was a trip in 2007 after a friend casually invited him to visit. During the trip, he instantly fell in love with the people, language, culture, and food! Subsequently, Josh transferred universities, locations, and degrees in order to pursue God's call to love and share life with the Chinese. This call led him to serve the Chinese as a student, teacher, businessman, and as the program coordinator of HCC in July 2014. Josh is proficient in Chinese, enthusiastic about life in Minnesota, and looking forward to meeting you. Contact Josh at firstname.lastname@example.org
Kim Sollie Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement
Kim sensed a call on her life to full-time Christian ministry during her college years and has loved the assignments the Lord has given her. She had the privilege of serving as a missionary for 20 years in Ecuador, South America. Kim served as the mission and outreach director at a Twin Cities church for the past 13 years, during which the members began to reach out to Chinese both locally and abroad. Through this exposure, a love for the Chinese people and culture developed in her heart. Kim lives in Maple Grove with her pastor husband, and they have four adult children. She enjoys the outdoors, cooking, reading, and hanging out with her grandchildren. Contact Kim at email@example.com.
Hannah Varberg Communications Coordinator
As a recent graduate from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, Hannah is eager to enter into the full-time work front. She double majored in professional writing and Spanish and had the opportunity to study abroad in Seville, Spain during her college years. Studying abroad changed her perspective and ignited a spark for more adventure and more cultural experiences. After her time abroad, Asian culture has been on her heart as her next adventure to pursue. Contact Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Amy Wang Program Coordinator
Amy's first friendships with international students began when she was an undergraduate at Winona State. What started as a desire to better connect herself to Chinese students in Bible study morphed into intentional language acquisition and enrollment in Chinese courses. Amy fell in love with China's language and culture, and, later, fell in love with a man from China, her husband Theodore. Amy joins us fresh from Hebei, Shijiazhuang, China, where she lived as an expat teaching English. Contact Amy at email@example.com.
Jonathan Nesvig ReEntry Coordinator
Jon is married to his wife of three years, Rachel, and they have a quickly growing two-year old, Caleb. God greatly impacted Jon through his time studying abroad in Xiamen in 2009. After graduating from college, he taught English and served alongside Chinese brothers and sisters in China from 2011–2017. His favorite Chinese foods are noodles from Shaanxi and “dry pot” from Sichuan. He has returned to Minnesota to get a degree in theology so that he can better love God and serve others. When he isn’t studying or working, he enjoys tickle fights with his son and good food with his wife. Contact Jon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
